Nothing says “Go F*uck yourself!” as a wall canvas covered with dildos.
A pop art inspired Buddha, i don’t know how Warhol missed out on the oportunity to make a pop Buddha.

Who the Fuck is Mr. Teko?
Teko van Kuyk’s works deal with his latent Latin influences. He was born in Switzerland and after a short time living in New Zealand, he went to live in Latin America, first for 15 years in Brazil and then 9 in Argentina, where he began to invest strongly in his art career. Over the span of 6 years, he took part in more than 60 group shows and 5 solo shows.
After this period of inspiration he decided it was time for a change, so in 2016 he moved to Berlin, and he’s been loving it here. He has exhibited and sold his work all around the world in cities such as Berlin, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Brussels, Barcelona, and Madrid.
Teko is an artist that doesn’t overthink about pushing boundaries to what art can be but prefers his art to be judged by the mass public. In a way evaluating his art by putting it into public criticism, Teko is a daring and fearless artist. He always experiments with material, balancing on the thin line between technology, art, and design.
His motto? “My work deals with shallowness, pop-culture, and pink”
It’s always unexpected what will come of his art. Art for him can be anything and everything. Following Warhol’s ideology “everything the artist does is art”, Teko finds himself exploring art in all sorts of languages, all sorts of techniques until the end result is satisfying enough for the buyers.
He is interested in an art which is more a product of contemporary internet-kitsch aesthetics rather than a vessel that carries supposed complex meanings and needs an expensive frame to be considered as such.
His art comes as an aftermath of flashy inspiration from everyday life with a touch of deep research, yet playful and deliberately kitsch effect. As he once said, “our times are kitsch, and so should our art be”. He mostly plays with ready-mades and daily symbols following the streams of pop art and Duchamp-ism, to suggest that maybe art is just a toy for rich pockets and not so much a deep, incomprehensible concept that needs to be unveiled.
His art is still about discovering new pathways and new ways of expression, new subjects, and new results. One would call his method almost scientific; like a scientist, he experiments on the materials available and sees what will happen; how people will react; and what the beauty might be.
This, he lets his buyers decide for him. As he likes to put it, he is a deeply-shallow artist.
Here we go straight to international fame!
